Summer Boating Safety Survey |
|
|
|
What is the survey?
This survey was developed by the Safety Committee in 2008 in response to residents concern from their perception of increasing traffic and traffic voliations on the lake. This survey will help the Weaver Lake Board to prioritize projects and to demonstrate possible needs to the DNR and the City of Maple Grove if necessary.
We hope to continue to collect data each summer (from volunteers) and watch for trends in boating traffic and address any needs that are shown from the data collected. We will update this page with the data collected each year.

2010 Volunteers Needed!
This survey is done on a volunteer basis. If you live on Weaver Lake and are interested in helping out, please contact Kellie Christensen (

). Volunteers can sign up for specific weekends or weeks from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete! For weekend assignments, we ask that the volunteer pick random times 2-3 times a day for each weekend day. For week day assignments, pick 2-3 week days and complete the survey 1-2 times each of those days.

One Way Weaver
Did you know all traffic over 15 mph must travel counter-clockwise on Weaver Lake? For safety's sake, Weaver Lake is regulated because of its size and the number of boats trafficking the lake.
Rules of Weaver Lake
The regulations and rules of Weaver Lake are posted at the boat launch. MN DNR Regulations on boating safety also apply. Watch for a new and improved sign at the boat launch for the 2010 boating season!
